The death of a regime opponent in the Palestinian Authority prison in Hebron about two weeks ago slipped under the radar for most of the Israeli media. Nizar Banat, a man who was very critical of the government of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), was taken in on June 24 for what turned out to be a violent interrogation by the security authorities and died under arrest a few hours later. Since then, protests have erupted across the West Bank.
