The Yesh Din rights group said the assailants were Israeli settlers, and an investigator for the organization said members of a family were sleeping in one of the homes.

The residents did not file a complaint, but police said they had opened an investigation into the incident.

Earlier this week, stones were thrown at cars and windows in the Palestinian town of Jalud, also in the Nablus area in the West Bank. The local council heads of Hawara and Jalud also stated that the perpetrators were Israeli settlers and that they had filed previous complaints with police.

“It was useless, and no one investigated the incidents,” said the head of Jalud’s local council, Abdullah Haj Mohammed. “Our trees were uprooted just a few weeks ago, and residents have installed iron bars on their houses because of the many attacks.”
