Rockets Fall in Baghdad's Green Zone

Two Katyushas fell within the area, causing no casualties, the Iraqi military says

Katyusha rockets fell inside Baghdad's Green Zone, igniting a fire, police sources said. 

Initially, police sources said that three rockets fell within the zone, which houses government buildings and foreign missions. An Iraqi military statement said that "Two Katyusha rockets fall inside the Green Zone without causing casualties." It said that more details are to come.

Sirens were sounding inside the Green Zone, and at least one of the rockets fell 100 meters away from the U.S. embassy, the police sources said.

The Green Zone was also targeted by rockets on Sunday. Three Katyusha rockets fell within the area, wounding six people. Another two fell within the nearby Jadriya area, the Iraqi military said.
