Distressing reports coming out of Iran talk of families giving up their homes because they can no longer pay rent. These aren’t young people and singles who have come to the cities in search of work or to study, but solid families with children who were once able to easily rent an apartment in Tehran or the other big cities. They now find themselves part of the half of Iran that statisticians say are now living in poverty.
