Iran's Parliament Speaker Likens Trump to Nazi Propagandist Joseph Goebbels
Ali Larijani said Trump 'follows the Goebbels doctrine with his lying' about Iran's democracy at the UN

Ali Larijani, the speaker of Iran's parliament, has compared U.S. President Donald Trump with the man who oversaw Nazi propaganda under Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels.

"Apparently Trump follows the Goebbels doctrine with his lying," ISNA news agency quoted Larijani as saying Sunday, making reference to a quote attributed the Nazi propaganda minister that a lie has only to be repeated often enough to be believed.
The Iranian lawmaker accused Trump of lying repeatedly, particularly about Iran's democracy, in his recent speech before the UN General Assembly.
Trump's rhetoric, Larijani said, was more in keeping with that of a "nightclub owner" than a U.S. president.
Politically, Trump still lives in the 1970s, said the Iranian lawmaker. The world has changed, he said, but Trump has not.
Iran is no longer under the command of the U.S. but is instead an independent state that doesn't take direction from anyone, he added.
