Hezbollah's Nasrallah: Resignation of Lebanon's Hariri Was a Saudi Decision
Hezbollah chief says there was no internal Lebanese reason for Saad Hariri's decision

Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah, said on Sunday that the way Prime Minister Saad Hariri resigned proves that Saudi Arabia is interfering with Lebanon's internal affairs.
- Lebanese president will not accept PM Hariri's resignation, sources say
- Exit of Lebanon's Hariri increases instability on Israel's front with Hezbollah
- Western intelligence agencies warned Lebanon's Hariri of assassination plot
The fact that Hariri's resignation announcement was pre-recorded and broadcast on the Saudi Al-Arabiya network, Nasrallah said, incidates that the Saudi regime forced him to resign.
He said that Hariri had recently traveled to Riyadh and returned to Lebanon with renewed positivity, discussing stability and support for Lebanon. As such, Hariri's recent attitude is inconsistent with his resignation. The Hezbollah leader said no one can say with certainty what the reason behind Hariri's resignation was, but noted that there was no internal Lebanese reason for it.
Nasrallah further noted that the people of Lebanon were wondering where Hariri is, why he has not returned to Lebanon, and whether he has been arrested or placed under house arrest.
The Hezbollah chief said that those who believe that Israel had a hand in Hariri's resignation are incorrect, as Israel only acts in accordance with its own interests as well as those of the U.S. Furthermore, ever since 2006, Israel clearly understands the cost of military intervention in Lebanon, and therefore, Israel is not involved in the Hariri resignation.
