A Military Court in Cairo last Monday sentenced the prominent Egyptian activist Alaa Abdel Fattah to five years in prison for spreading fake news and, of course, for harming state security and for membership in a terror organization. Blogger Mohamed Ibrahim, who goes by the nickname Mohamed Oxygen, and Fattah’s lawyer were also sentenced each to four years in prison.
