What’s Going on for Tel Aviv Pride 2019? The Shows, Parties, Conferences and Parades

Pride events include parties on Hilton Beach, the first National Conference of the Gay Community, exhibitions at the Abraham Hostel and street displays in Old Jaffa, culminating in the flagship Pride Parade on Friday

Pride 2019 events in Tel Aviv are taking place under the slogan “The Struggle Continues.” Events include parties on Hilton Beach, lectures, conferences for the LGBT community, the first national conference of the gay community, cultural events, exhibitions, and of course the flagship Pride Parade on Friday.

As every year, the Hilton Tel Aviv Beach will be decorated in rainbow colors for Pride Month and there are huge parties taking place there every day.

The First National Conference of the Gay Community

The conference will deal with issues affecting the lives of LGBT community members in the public, business and cultural arenas. Participants include Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, Social Equality Minister Gila Gamliel, Kahol Lavan chairman Benny Gantz, Ofra Strauss; Facebook Israel CEO Adi Sofer Taani; SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum and singer Ivri Lider.

After the conference there will be a ceremony at the Tel Aviv Museum where the Shulamit Aloni Awards will be presented to individuals who aren’t members of the LGBT community who have made special contributions to advancing equal rights and tolerant discourse.

Pink Day

The day before the Pride Parade, there will be consciousness-raising events about the LGBT community’s situation, marking a year since the large protest and general strike in support of the community. There will be protests throughout Tel Aviv and dozens of events, educational activities, distribution of explanatory materials, discussion groups and more.

Pride Exhibitions at the Abraham Hostel

To mark Pride Week, Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv is opening its doors and holding two exhibitions that correspond to the issue of gay pride. The first is called “The Perfect Flower,” by artist Gili Levinson, which displays photos of flowers with two reproductive organs while dealing with sexuality and gender. The second is an exhibit by Sigal Miller called “Touch Me,” a display of charcoal drawings that deal with feelings and relationships that cross gender lines.

When: Through June 14, from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M.

Street displays in Old Jaffa

The “Out of the Box” exhibition features the works of 45 artists from the gay community on the street of Old Jaffa. The works allow the creators to make their authentic voices heard, while leaving room to conduct a discussion centered on the “commonality” of the gay community.

When: From Tuesday, June 11, through August 31, all hours

Tuesday June 11

The bear necessities: The opening Pride event of the men-only, bears party “Beef Charge” will have several dance floors, dark rooms and cruising areas. DJs Juanma Escudero from Spain, Ilan Leibovits from Tel Aviv and Guy Scheiman from the U.S will be commanding the dance floors.

You better WERK: WERK, the relatively new drag night with DJ Daniel Maruima on stage and lots of performances by local drag queens such as Gallina Port Des Bras, will hold its Pride special tonight.

Wednesday June 12

Je ne regrette rien: The techno party for men only “JIZZ – A pride to regret” will be held at the Alphabet club, with DJs such as Dor Zipori and E-bony on stage, as well as a darkroom.

The Spanish transposition: The people behind the popular and established “Forever Tel Aviv” parties will open their 2019 Pride with a "Matinee Pervert” party at the Haoman 17 nightclub in southern Tel Aviv. According to the organizers, the event will feature "the notorious party line of Matinee from Barcelona in a night filled with kinky surprises, large-sized sex shows & international porn stars alongside the Matinees DJ stars & an active, perverted sexy dark room directly from Europe.” The lineup will include Udi Dadush, Phil Romano and Flavio Zarza from Barcelona.

Thursday June 13

The kibbutz never looked hotter: The people behind the annual Waterpark party and the organizers of “Forever Tel Aviv” come together for another wet and sunny party at the Shefayim Waterpark in Kibbutz Shefaym. Shuttle bus services will be available to take partygoers from Tel Aviv. Don't forget to drink water and put on your sunscreen and pair of water wings.

Malibu, baby!: Ignore the superficial muscle guys in Speedos all around and just enjoy the special performance of non other than Trinity the Tuck Taylor who will be at Papa & Gym's "Game of Crowns” party at Hangar 17, 17 Ben Avigdor Street

Friday June 14

Rebels, for 18 hours straight: The queer, techno and alternative “Kok Schok” party will celebrate Pride with two special events: its annual protest party, “F**k Pride,” will start at midnight at the Artclub, and an alternative water park party will start at 10 A.M. the following day at the same location. The daytime party will include a pool, DJs and a drag show from Thailand, as well as Thai food and cocktails.

1 day, 3 nights: “The PAG,” an alternative, raunchy and sexy party, will have several events at the Alphabet Club, the Gamma and Phi. They promise "sexy surprises, daring performers and rabbits in the toilets.” For more details on the different parties: 

Forever, once again: The main Pride party of “Forever Tel Aviv” will be held on Friday with the most extravagant production and decoration. The playlist will include DJs Sagi Kariv and Tomer Maizner.
