Wonder Woman is here! Well, almost. Fans got their first glimpse at Gal Gadot’s incarnation of the female superhero from “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” this weekend, when a photo of her was released to the public at Comic-Con and via director Zack Snyder’s Twitter account.
In the photo, the Israeli actress can be seen wearing a modernized version of the classic Wonder Woman getup: Rather than wearing an American flag-inspired body suit, Gadot’s Wonder Woman is reminiscent of a medieval warrior in bronze armour. She stands in the picture amid exploding volcanos with a determined look in her eyes as sharp as the sword she brandishes.
Not only was her picture shown at the international comics expo in San Diego, Gadot made a surprise appearance there, too, along with co-stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill. None of the stars were given a chance to speak, though, as Snyder admitted he was concerned the audience might woo them into letting a spoiler slip.
Fans have been waiting to catch a first glimpse of the Israeli actress playing the iconic character since Gadot was casted in December 2013. Judging by the crowd's reaction in San Diego, they weren’t disappointed.
