"Saturday Night Live" kicked off its season finale this weekend with Alec Baldwin returning as U.S. President Donald Trump for the final cold open of season 45.
The virtual high school graduation skit began with Kate McKinnon as principal explaining that students' preferred key-note speakers the "murder hornets" and former President Obama all declined invitations, which is why Trump would be giving the address.
Baldwin’s Trump, after coughing and drinking bleach, kicked off his speech with a message of inspiration: “Believe in yourselves, and you can achieve anything. Look at me. I started as the son of a simple, wealthy slumlord and grew to be a billionaire, president and world’s leading expert on infectious disease.”
“Live every day as if it’s your last, because we’re going to let this thing run wild,” he added. “Reach for the stars, because if you’re a star, they’ll let you do it,” he concluded - a reference to his infamous “Access Hollywood” tape.
