Comedian Conan O'Brien will arrive in Israel in the end of August to film a special for his TBS show "Conan."

In a tweet announcing his trip, O'Brien wrote that he's dispatching himself to Israel "to help Jared Kushner." On Friday, a White House official said that President Donald Trump is sending a delegation headed by Kushner, his senior adviser and son in law, to Israel, the Palestinian Authority and several Arab states in an effort to renew the peace process.

O'Brien has filmed specials in South Korea, Cuba, Mexico and Armenia in the past.

This will be his first trip to Israel, a country he mocks mercilessly on his late-night show.

"President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is in the Middle East to broker a historic peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Kushner thinks real progress will start once both sides stop laughing," he joked in June.

In May, ahead of Trump's own visit to Israel, O'Brien quipped: "Later this month, President Trump will visit Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the Vatican. Trump said, 'I look forward to insulting three religions in one trip.'"

In December 2015, after Trump, then a presidential candidate, cancelled a planned trip to Israel, O'Brien said: "Donald Trump has cancelled a planned trip to Israel. When asked why, Trump said, 'They already have a wall and a fear of Muslims. My work there is done.'"
