The Hollywood Reporter has named Israeli broadcaster and journalist Ilana Dayan one of the 25 most prominent women in global television.

Dayan was joined on the list by fellow Israeli Tmira Yardeni, considered Israel's top television producer. The list did not rank the women.

The Reporter in its October 17 issue hailed Dayan as the "Christiane Amanpour of Israel," crediting her for spending her life "smashing glass ceilings."

Dayan, who started and hosts Uvda (Fact), Israel's longest-running current affairs investigative program, served as the Israeli Army Radio's first-ever female correspondent. She then went on to become Israel's first female presenter when she joined Erev Hadash, the educational show, in 1993.

Born in Argentina, Dayan said this summer that when she moved to Israel at the age of six, she wanted, more than anything, to become Israeli. " "I wanted Hebrew to be the language that runs through my veins," she told Rogel Alpher in June.

Yardeni launched the production company Tedy with her husband, Dudu Yardeni, in 1973. The company's successful shows include the singing reality show "A Star is Born."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yardeni is expanding into the U.S. market with the NBC series "Allegiance" and the TBS sitcom "Your Family or Mine.
