A red baboon has been born in the Ramat Gan Safari Park, the first such birth in the park's history.

The female infant, who has dark fur, was born about three weeks ago to four-year-old Sahara. It is not known who the father is, though it might be Star, the dominant male.

Sahara has turned out to be a good and caring mother, according to the safari, spending virtually all her time with her unnamed baby.
