'Wonder Woman,' Starring Israeli Actress Gal Gadot, Just Isn't American Enough for Fox News Commentators
Guests on Fox News' 'Your World with Neil Cavuto' bash Gal Gadot's 'Wonder Woman' for not being sufficiently patriotic

"Wonder Woman," starring Israeli actress Gal Gadot, just isn't American enough for Fox News.

The film, which has gotten rave reviews, was bashed by commentators on Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto" on Friday because it's apparently not patriotic enough. In fact, it "makes very little reference to America at all," Cavuto noted.
One of the guests, Dion Baia, blamed this on Hollywood, which he said cares more about making money abroad than about patriotism.
“I think, nowadays, sadly, money trumps patriotism," Baia said. Especially recently, I personally feel like we’re not really very patriotic, the country, in a certain sense. They want these movies to succeed internationally, so they’re going to dial back.”
The superhero film's main character, Diana, isn't American – she comes from a fictional island in the fictional land of the Amazons. Yet the guests on the Fox News show slammed the fact her costume isn't red, white and blue, but rather red, white and gold.
"It's cool to hate America again" in Hollywood, another guest on the show, Mike Gunzelman, suggested, bringing up Lena Dunham and Kathy Griffin as examples of America-hating celebrities.
The fact that the title character is played by an Israeli didn't come up.
