Drip irrigation is a technology invented by a former Israeli government official, Simcha Blass. The rights were acquired by the Israeli company Netafim, which is marketing the irrigation solution - which drips water mixed with fertilizer right by the roots of the plant - around the world. Drip is increasingly being used instead of flood irrigation.
