The United States may feel it has enough stoners of its own, thank you, and today barred none other than "domestic goddess" Nigella Lawson from entering the country after she admitted to using cocaine – even though she was never prosecuted for drug use, the Daily Mail reports.

Ironically, Lawson had managed to pass security before being barred from boarding a British Airways flight from Heathrow to Los Angeles. It bears note that she had traveled to the U.S. since her confession of drug use, so why the American authorities chose to bar her this time is not clear.

Her admission of using cocaine and marijuana in front of the kids may create a problem for the U.S. version of the cooking contest she stars on, "The Taste." The show features herself, celebrity bad-boy chef Anthony Bourdain and French chef Ludo Lefebvre judging dishes sweatingly cooked by contestants, based on a single spoonful – that they taste blind, yet.

Meanwhile, another set of American officials were evidently horrified at the hasty move to bar the star. The Times reports that the U.S. suggests Lawson reapply for a visa.
