Rome's Jewish Community will mark the 32nd anniversary of the Great Synagogue bombing on Wednesday.

Dozens of people were wounded and one toddler was killed in the blast in the Italian capital on October 9, 1982. In the attack, Palestinian terrorists believed to be part of the Abu Nidal group hurled hand grenades and fired on worshipers leaving the synagogue after Shemini Atzeret services.

A tree-planting ceremony will take place at the School Institute Via Tedeschi in Rome to mark the anniversary, Italian media reported.

Riccardo Pacifici, president of Rome's Jewish community, will take part in the ceremony along with the victims' families.
