Ian Campbell, 42, was formally charged by the police with racially or religiously motivated aggravated intentional harassment, the London Jewish Chronicle reported. He was released on bail but required not to travel that bus route.
Last week one of the paper's reporters said that on a bus in the community of Golders Green, she'd witnessed a man shout "get the Jews off the bus; all they do is fuck us" and threaten to burn the bus and the Jews.
Police identified the suspect through closed-circuit-TV footage, and a local police officer also recognized him, the Chronicle reported.
A court hearing is set for October 9.
