Take-no-prisoners comedian Joan Rivers will guest star on the hit comedy show "Matsav Hauma" ("State of the Nation") Tuesday night in the opening program of the new season.

Rivers expressed "very unusual opinions on the State of Israel" during the show's taping in New York, according to the folks at Matsav Hauma, which airs on Channel 2.

Rivers, born 80 years ago in Brooklyn as Joan Alexandra Molinsky, is known for ripping people to shreds in her comedy.

Example: "Madonna is so hairy. When she lifted her arm, I thought it was Tina Turner in her armpit."

However, she's fairly merciless about herself, particularly her looks.

Example: "I said to my husband, 'My boobs have gone, my stomach's gone, say something nice about my legs.' He said, 'Blue goes with everything."

References to Nazis often surface in her material. A celeb on the fashion reality show "Fashion Police," Rivers, commenting on ex-model Heidi Klum's outfit at a post-Oscar party this year, said, "The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into ovens."

The Anti-Defamation League's Abraham Foxman didn't see the humor, calling the remark "so vulgar and offensive to Jews and Holocaust survivors, and indeed to all Americans, that we cannot believe it made it to the airwaves."

Refusing to apologize, Rivers told the cable show "Showbiz Tonight:" "It's a joke, number one. Number two, it is about the Holocaust. This is the way I remind people about the Holocaust. I do it through humor. My husband lost his entire family in the Holocaust."

There has been no word on whether Rivers commented during the taping on the Knesset's move to outlaw use of the word "Nazi."
