This recipe can be prepared the same way with grapefruit as well.
The oranges must have a thick skin.
2 lb. oranges with thick skins
2 lb. sugar
Juice from one lemon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1. Lightly grate the skin of the oranges and cut each orange into 8 slices lengthwise.
2. Put all the ingredients in a heavy bottom pot and cook over very low heat for about 3-4 hours. Add a little water if the mixture becomes too thick.
