Jews Are Never Safe Under Dictators – and Putin’s No Exception
As Russian President Vladimir Putin faces a loss in Ukraine, the Jews are no longer useful to him. Closing the Jewish Agency is just the first step
Just as with other dictators who meticulously build their image and jealously guard the exact details of their early years and rise to power, there are plenty of myths surrounding Vladimir Putin’s childhood in Leningrad (today Saint Petersburg). One interesting chapter in the Putin foundation story is that of his interactions with the many Jews in his neighborhood and school.
