A rabbi who allegedly molested the daughter of family friends for several years is in a Baltimore County jail after being extradited from New York, U.S. media reported Thursday.

Rabbi Frederick Martin Karp, who was arrested at JFK Airport in New York, after leaving his Cleveland home before police were able to pick him up, is facing charges that include the sex abuse of a minor as a continuing course of conduct, according to Fox 8 Cleveland.

He was reportedly being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $5 million bond as of Thursday.

Karp told police that he is the rabbi at the Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood, a suburb of Cleveland, the Baltimore Sun reported.

According to the Sun, Baltimore County police received information on December 31 that Karp had been sexually assaulting a girl at the home of Baltimore friends he visited between July 2009 and December 2014. When they went to his home he was gone. Police arrested him at JFK on January 15.
