WATCH: Jay Leno Dishes to Jimmy Fallon About Israelis' English Skills
What happens when longtime late-night host has the chutzpah to request Coke with ice and ask when it's time to walk out onto the stage?
Though many Israelis know at least some English, the English they speak isn’t always the same language Jay Leno does, the former late-night talk-show host said over the weekend.
On Friday’s “Tonight Show,” Leno – appearing as a guest on the show he used to host -- told his successor, Jimmy Fallon, all about what happened backstage in Israel when the comedian had the chutzpah to request a Coke with ice and to ask whether he should walk out onto the stage after he was introduced.
Leno, who isn’t Jewish but has said he is “very pro-Jewish, very pro-Israeli,” was in the country in May to host the first Genesis Prize ceremony, at which the award was presented to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
