Mollie Fermaglich is a comedy writer who has penned a number of television episodes, but her latest write-up is not so funny: a $12 million suit against her employer, New York University, for discrimination, according to a New York Post report.

Fermaglich, 61, asserts in her Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit that after she protested working on Passover, a colleague asked her, "Just how Jewish are you?" the Post relates.

The NYU professor also claims that the university has repeatedly passed over her for promotion in favor of younger, male, non-Jewish teachers, notes the Post.

An NYU spokesman, according to the Post, said Fermaglich still teaches full-time at the school, and that the university believes the facts demonstrate that there is no basis for her allegations.
