Drew Barrymore is reportedly having her tattoos removed so she can convert to Judaism.

The 37-year-old actress is undergoing laser surgery to have six tattoos removed, including flowers on her hip, a cross on her leg and a butterfly on her stomach, because the Jewish faith bans defacing your body.

The Torah states: "You shall not make gashes in your flesh for the dead, or incise any marks on yourself."

Barrymore, who married art consultant Will Kopelman last June, will raise their daughter, Olive, in the Jewish faith.

A source told America's Star: "She's growing up, turning conservative."
