According to a report on JSS news, two unknown individuals hurled two firebombs into the kosher store "Naouri Sarcelles," located in the Parisian suburb of Sarcelles.
The local police was quoted admitting that an incident took place, but refused to reveal additional information.
Police have not linked the attack to the release of caricatures hours earlier by a Paris weekly depicting the Muslim Prophet Mohammed, including one featuring a Haredi Jew and a religious Muslim.
The store was reportedly full of shoppers after the Rosh Hashanah holiday, marking the Jewish New Year, and beginning their preparations for the pre-Yom Kippur meal, Moshe Cohen-Sabban, president of the Jewish communities of Val d'Oise, told the French online edition of the newspaper Metro.
Eye-witnesses told JSS that the attack occurred in the early afternoon, when "two individuals dressed in black threw the explosives into the store," adding that one of the firebombs exploded and started a fire.
Sarcelles police confirmed a police force was dispatched to the scene and began investigating.
What triggered that attack is yet to be concluded.
Located in the north of Paris, Sarcelles, which is known as "Little Jerusalem," is home to a large Jewish community that emigrated from North Africa in the 1960s.
