Pro-Palestinian Group Launches anti-Israel Ad on New York Subway

Ad by American Muslims for Palestine urges Obama to stop aid to Israel, calls Israel an apartheid state.

A pro-Palestinian group on Tuesday launched an ad campaign on the New York City transit system, calling on the United States to stop its foreign aid to Israel.

The ads, which will appear in 25 Metro North stations over the next four weeks, were paid for by the American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).

The ads charge that Israel is an apartheid state, something that Israel has vehemently rejected.

The ads quote Nobel Peace Prize laureate Desmond Tutu as saying, "I've been very deeply distressed in my visit to the Holy Land; it reminded me so much of what happened to us black people in South Africa."

“The U.S. foreign policy vis a vis Israel really runs counter to our American values of liberty, justice and democracy,” AMP Chairman Dr. Hatem Bazian posted on the organization's website. “Our foreign policy and more than $3 billion per year in foreign aid is aiding and abetting Israel’s institutionalized racist policies toward the Palestinians.”

The United States has provided Israel with $233.7 billion in aid ‏(after adjusting for inflation‏) since the state was formed in 1948 through the end of last year, research by TheMarker has found.
