Israeli Astronaut Captures TV Today

Local television Channels One, Two and 10 will have special broadcasts today of the blast-off at Cape Kennedy of Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon aboard the spacecraft Columbia, scheduled at 5:44 P.M. Israel time.

Channel One will start its five-hour broadcast at 4 P.M. with the participation of space and aeronautics experts. The blast-off will be broadcast live and a documentary on Ramon during his space training will also be aired.

Channel Two will begin broadcasting at 5 P.M. with experts and members of the Ramon family, and will also have the take-off live.

Channel 10 will have a countdown on its screen all day with a one-minute update on the hour until 5 P.M., when it will relay NASA's broadcast from Cape Kennedy.
