A 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her Jerusalem apartment on Thursday, and police suspect her husband, who was found in serious condition, attacked her and then attempted suicide.
Micahl Sela's body was found at the couple's apartment in the Motza neighborhood in west Jerusalem after her husband took their eight-month-old baby to the neighbors next door, where he collapsed.
The neighbor said she "opened the door and saw a man wrapped in a blanket or a sheet, sitting on the floor and holding a baby. He told me he needs help and that he and his wife attempted to commit suicide."
She added that she "took the child, whose shirt was tainted with her father's blood, and called the police. He [the husband] was wounded, but didn't seem upset or confused. He looked like a person in distress seeking help."
Michal's family said she met her husband while the two worked with youth at risk in Jerusalem.

Lili Ben-Ami, Michal's sister, said that her "beloved sister was kind, giving, creative, beautiful inside and out. Whether speaking with close or distant people, she immediately enlisted to assist them from the bottom of her heart, sharing her wisdom and advices." Michal worked at an educational center in the city.
Michal's mother, Daniella, recalled that "Many years ago Michal told me she knew what her job in the world was — to make people happy. Years later she chose a profession through which she was able to help people, and bring joy and light into the world."
The police say neither Michal nor her husband had a criminal record, adding that no prior domestic violence incidents were reported. Michal's family is also struggling to comprehend the circumstances leading to Michal's death, saying "They were a couple in love and we didn't notice anything unusual. It's a tragedy."
In February, Sela wrote after the birth of her daughter: "I've gained an amazing, supportive, loving, and caring husband and an incredible and sweet daughter. I can only thank for that, I love you my beautiful family."
In May of 2018, Sela posted a photo of her and her husband and wrote: "The greatest birthday present I could have gotten, and here's for loving life."
