Woman Found Dead in Suspected Murder in Central Israeli City

A 41-year-old woman was found dead Saturday night in the central Israeli city of Rehovot, in an apparent beating and stabbing.

Police arrested a 48-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, both Rehovot residents, under suspicion of involvement in the murder. According to preliminary investigation, the suspects were familiar with the woman.

According to the police, the three had been together at the apartment of one of the suspects and may have been drinking. The suspects have no criminal record and police is looking into the possibility that a fight erupted between the woman and the suspects, which led to the murder.

The body was covered with bruise marks and police declared her death on the spot. 

In February, a 20-year-old man was shot to death in the city. A 25-year-old man was severely injured in the incident.
