A group of women praying in a Women of the Wall service at the Western Wall were pelted with snowballs from across the barrier which separates men and women on Friday, an act that was caught on video the group.
The video was posted to WOW's' Facebook page, along with the caption "A sad state of affairs on a snow, happy Rosh Hodesh Adar."
Women of the Wall has been holding a monthly prayer service at the Kotel for the past 25 years. Some of the participants in this service wear prayer shawls and phylacteries – practices the ultra-Orthodox consider forbidden for women. The ultra-Orthodox also object to their practice of praying and singing out loud.
