A trip to Portugal reveals growing interest in its Sephardic heritage. In Lisbon, Porto and the small mountain towns, ancient Jewish quarters - dormant for over 500 years - are being restored.  In Belmonte, a hidden Jewish community emerges from hiding. Heritage and cultural centers have become popular for locals and visitors alike. Recent legislation by the Portugal government offers citizenship to Jews who can trace their ancestry to before or after the 15th Century expulsion.  With nearly 20 percent of the population having Jewish ancestry, many Portuguese are searching for their Sephardic roots.
