A massive standstorm in Amman, Jordan disrupted air traffic in and out of the country. Jordan has also been hit recently by very hot weather. Jordan's Meteorological Department said temperatures were expected to be as high as 43 degrees Celsius in the southern city of Aqaba on Sunday and Monday. Much of the rest of the Middle East is also sweltering. Late last week, the Iraqi government declared a four-day holiday due to the extreme heat.
