When asked to describe the appeal of Trump, one support responded, “He has no filter. Do you really want a president who walks on eggshells and not wanting to hurt this community or that community?”
Klepper went on to ask the group, by means of holding up Trump faced cards, if they would still support Trump if he did the following things: making fun of a disabled reporter, making fun of Chinese people, proposing a registry for all Muslims. For each of which, the group kept their cards in the air.
When finally asked if they would still support Trump if he called for a registry of Jews in the United States, two supporters still kept their cards in the air.
Kempler concluded the focus group noting that, “Even some Trump supporters can’t wrap their heads around why people support Trump.”
