The United States Embassy announced Thursday it was launching an easier visa application process for Israeli citizens renewing their non-immigrant visas. The Interview Waiver Program will allow many Israelis renewing their visas to do so without having to report to the embassy for a personal interview.

According to the U.S. embassy press release, if an applicant has a valid tourist visa or one that expired within the last twelve months, the applicant may simply send in their completed application following the instructions on the embassy website. The prior visa must have been issued after January 1, 2008. The applicant must have also been at least 14-years-old when they received the visa.

Applying for a tourist visa to the United States has long been considered an arduous process by many Israelis.
