In the yard of a house in the West Bank town of Idna, not far from Hebron, a family waited for a body. They had been waiting futilely since the previous Saturday, July 2, for the body of their mother, grandmother and sister. Her ex-husband, Hassan Matar, to whom she was married for 27 years, until they separated 13 years ago, was among the mourners-in-waiting.
