Nefesh B’Nefesh, the immigrant assistance organization, is hosting an “Erev July 4” BBQ for young adults in their 20s and 30s in Gan Gozlan (the park behind the King David Hotel) from 7:30-10 P.M. In honor of both the Fourth of July and Canada Day (which falls on July 1), the Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel is hosting a picnic in the courtyard of Beit Yehudit (Emek Refaim 12) from 4-7:30 P.M. There will be a yard sale; a screening of a Major League Baseball game; a dog-adoption run by the Jerusalem Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; plus face painting and a bounce house for the kids. Admission is free; food and drinks for sale.
All six branches of Mike’s Place bar will celebrate with BBQ and blues. For NIS 60, patrons will get a burger or hot dog, chicken wings, coleslaw, corn on the cob, French fries and an ice-cold beer. The Tel Aviv-Tayelet branch (Herbert Samuel 86) will have an outdoor bar and music by the blues band Trask. The full list of bands can be found here.
American lone soldiers are invited to a BBQ dinner hosted by Nefesh B’Nefesh at the Cabina restaurant (Hayarkon 145) beginning at 8 P.M. The event is free, but advance registration is required. Register here.
