The crazy fluctuations in bitcoin rates in recent months have once again brought the world of cryptocurrency to the headlines. With the value of one bitcoin already exceeded $58,000, any fragment of a bitcoin (or satoshis, the bitcoin equivalent of a cent) can be worth a fortune.

Many people who invested early are now frantically trying to recall where they kept the satoshis they purchased years ago. Some of these people now realize they may possess a small fortune lying in some long-lost digital wallet, but by the same token they may as well try to break into Fort Knox, since even if they do find their digital wallet, this doesn’t mean they have the key, namely the password and backup terms.
