A woman in her 60s was found stabbed to death on Saturday morning in an apartment in Kiryat Motzkin. Her 69 year-old partner was found beside her with stab wounds. He was taken to Rambam Hospital in Haifa in critical condition. Police noted early Saturday evening that they suspected the incident was a murder-suicide.

Emergency medical services paramedic Shlomo Ben-Ami said the two suffered stab wounds in their upper bodies. “The woman showed no signs of life when we arrived and we quickly determined that she was dead. The man, who was barely conscious, was anesthetized and artificially respirated before being evacuated in serious condition for further medical treatment at a hospital.”

The couple’s neighbors said they were a nice and quiet couple. One neighbor said the woman was restricted in her mobility after a cerebral incident and that the man was looking after her. The couple, who had two children, lived on their own. “It’s shocking, a terrible tragedy” said another neighbor.
