Toffees reportedly sweet on Hemed

English Premier League team Everton is reportedly interested in signing Real Mallorca’s Israeli striker Tomer Hemed, according to the Daily Mail. Interest in the Israeli comes amid scoring problems for the Toffees, after front line forward Nikica Jelavic went 836 minutes without scoring before last Saturday’s win over Manchester City. Netting five times in the first seven games of the season, he has embarked on a drought of his own, having only scored once since this run, but he would still command a £5 million transfer fee. He joined Mallorca in the summer of 2011, scoring 10 times in his first full season. (Haaretz Sports Staff)

Streak now 25, as Heat rally past Detroit

The Miami Heat extended their winning streak to 25 games after pulling away in the second half to beating the Detroit Pistons 103-89 on Friday. LeBron James scored 29 points, Dwyane Wade added 19 and Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers scored 11 each for Miami, which shook off yet another slow start to move within eight wins of equaling the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers for the longest winning streak in NBA history. The Heat also won at home for the 16th straight time. (AP)
