Israeli Figure Skater Alexei Bychenko Places 21st

Israeli Olympic figure skater Alexei Bychenko finished in the 21st place scoring 177.06 points in the Free Skate figure skating competition at the Sochi Games Friday evening.

Japanese teenager Yuzuru Hanyu won the men's Olympic figure skating title scoring 280.09 points. Patrick Chan of Canada took silver and Kazakhstan's Denis Ten picked up bronze.

Earlier this week, Israeli skating duo Evgeni Krasnopolski and Andrea Davidovich qualified for the figure skating finals.

On Monday, Israeli short track speed skater Vladislav Bykanov failed to qualify for the 1,500-meter semifinals by less than a second.

Israeli brother and sister figure skating duo Roman and Alexandra Zaretsk placed 10th in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
