The Inter Aliyah team competing in the International Football League in Israel got its season off to the best possible start, beating French opposition FC United TLV in South Tel Aviv last Saturday night.
After creating the team over the summer, Sam Sank handed the reins over to manager David Kanoff, who masterminded an impressive victory in the team’s first-ever competitive match. Lone striker Ran Sarusi scored two goals within the opening minutes, before Gabriel Edelstein added a third before halftime for the dominant away side, following another Didi Hovav brace.
The second half started in the same way, with central midfielder Gal Noymark taking on two defenders before finding the bottom corner and sending his side into a dominating lead. As Inter took its foot off the pedal, FC United rallied and scored twice to make the game more competitive. However, Inter held its nerve and saw the game out comfortably.
Inter Aliyah’s squad for the league includes Daniel Roche, Jesse Feld, Jeremy Kahan, Amir Szuster, Amir Mizrachi, Matt Walker, David Prusa, Gal Noymark, David Schumann, David Plaks, Didi Hovav, Gabriel Edelstein, Daniel Goodman, Dani Mizrachi and Ran Sarusi.
