Inter Aliyah B got its first win since the second week of the season, comfortably beating Combo 4-1 to move up the International Football League of Israel table.

Manager David Kanoff brought a smaller squad, and it looked to have paid off with Inter dominating throughout. Spanish striker Dani Mizrachi continued his goal-scoring form when he grabbed the first, and South African David Plaks added another before halftime after he lobbed it over the goalkeeper from 40 yards.

Combo grabbed a goal at the hour mark, but Inter proved too strong and restored a two-goal deficit thanks to Danny Pinto. The game’s best moment fell to Niv Gur, who broke his goalless drought to grab his first of the season, sparking wild celebrations on the Inter bench.

In Liga Gimmel action, Inter Aliyah succumbed 4-2 at home against league leader Otzma Holon despite its two-goal lead in the first half. In what was his last game for the club, stand-in captain Yona Dorfzaun led the all-international team against Liga Gimmel’s top team, and the home side started well, threatening from the start.

It wasn’t long before Inter took the lead. Azano Arteso wrong-footed the keeper and shortly thereafter Evyatar Erez beat an offside trap to send the home fans into rapture.

But Holon got a goal back through a corner and equaled via a penalty before the halftime whistle, after Andy Gabay was judged to have handled the ball. In the second half, Inter continued its dominance and had further chances, the best one falling to Yoni Golfor.

But it was Holon that grabbed the all-important fifth goal of the game 10 minutes from time, and as Inter chased an equalizer, the league leaders added one more to secure the three points.
