A second win in a row for Inter Aliyah has put them into the top five of the table, following a hard-fought 3-1 victory in Holon.
This was the second time that the two teams had met this season, with Inter emerging victorious 3-2 in the first round of the National Cup in early September.
It was a similar story this time around, with the visitors in control for large parts of the game.
A crucial save from Inter’s Sergei Wolfson settled the nerves early and they soon took got into their stride, before Daniel Geron opened the scoring. But the joy was short-lived after Gasotn Hilman was shown a straight red card on the half hour mark for a two-footed challenge to leave Inter with 10 men.
Yet, the home side also had a man sent off just five minutes later and with that the two teams went into the halftime break.
The early period of the second half was Holon’s best of the game and it finished a well-worked move to equalize and put the final result back up for grabs. However, substitute Dani Markovits came off the bench to score with his first touch to restore Inter’s lead and Inter oozed confidence thereon after, adding a third toward the end thanks to Sebastian “Ita” Israel.
It’s now three wins and two defeats for the season, with Friday’s game against Elitzur Yehud set to be a big one.
