Israel Flag Football: Thundermuffins Make Noise on Busy Weekend

A full slate of teams competed over the weekend in AFI’s Touch Football League, with a few teams like the Thundermuffins and Hillbillies making dominant performances.

All teams played doubleheaders against their rivals.

On Friday, Frisch Cougers opned with 12-6 and 7-0 wins over Orayta. Mevaseret tied Big MACS 13-13 with before taking the second game 23-6. TABC Storm swept Monsey Blazers 20-13 and 20-6, while High Rollers blanked Team Our Place 3014 and 14-0. Toras Chaim kept Shalhevet Firehawks at Bay with victories of 31-0 and 22-7. Finally, Lev Night Sheidim beat Ccj in two low-scoring affairs, 7-6 and 6-1.

On Saturday evening, Long Island Smokers got things started by sweeping Philip L. Stein 12-6 and 7-6. Tzionim blanked The Bruschis 13-0 before holding on in the second game 15-13. Joeys blanked The Whistlers 17-0 and 21-0.

BB4L and Mishaan Plumbing were one of the few teams to split their matches, as Mishaan claimed the first game 2018 and BB4L barely won 14-13.

Thundermuffins stormed all over Café Rimon Nachhorns 46-0 and 36-0 in the most dominant performance of the weekend. Har Nof Hillibillies were impressive in their own fashion, drilling Our Crowd 29-6 and 20-0. DEC drew with Ashkenazi Acquisition 6-6 in their first match but ground out a 20-12 victory in the second game. Finally, Imperial Car Service swept No Names 19-6 and 13-6.
