On Thursday, Australia's netball team topped Israel 37-27 to complete a 4-0 sweep of the preliminary round at the 20th Maccabiah Games.  Argentina and South Africa drew 32-32 on Thursday as both finished the round with three losses and a draw. Israel finished 2-2.

The team from down under also defeating Argentina and South Africa during the round, starting the week off Sunday with a 35-29 victory over Great Britain.

Israel started its week by beating the young Argentinian team by 50-25 and the following day put on a wonderful display of netball to beat the South Africans by 39-30. On Wednesday one of their shooters, Keren Gordon, was drafted to the army and she was missed on court when they lost to Great Britain 42-33.

The Israeli junior team, which prior to this Maccabiah has never played on the international stage, boasts two young Israeli players who last year at this time had never heard of netball. Taking this into account, their netball skills are very impressive and they were extremely disappointed to lose to South Africa by only one goal 28-27.

All matches are being held at the Aviv Sports Hall, Rehov Haprachim 2, Ra'anana.

The women's semifinals will be held on Friday, and the finals are set for Sunday. Australia is favored to meet Great Britain (3-1) for a rematch on Sunday in the final.
