Another disappointing result for Inter Aliyah has left Israel’s first all-Olim side languishing in 10th place in the Liga Gimmel table as the season reaches its halfway point.

Taking on lowly opposition Spartak Ramat Gan next to the Moshava Stadium on Friday morning, the Inter Aliyah guys took ages to get going, and by that time the home side was already up 2-0. Sloppy defending and a lack of desire from the visitors allowed Spartak to break the deadlock inside the first 10 minutes and the lead was doubled just before half time.
A rousing team talk from manager Jerome Katz sparked some life into Inter and the second half was a different story. Sebastian “Ita” Israel halved the deficit with a lovely long ranged shot. However, no matter how much the squad tried, Inter could not find that elusive equalizer and the home side held on for a deserved win.
