The team of Gary Vandermolen and Steve Weil won a 9-hole better ball tournament, which preceded the prize-giving ceremony for the 2014 league at the Gaash Golf Club this week.
Fifty-two golfers played in perfect weather conditions and an excellent atmosphere prevailed. Vandermolen and Weil finished in a tie with the duo of Yoram Arbel and Meir Dor with 22 stableford points. Vandermolen and Weil won on the count back.
Nearest-to-the-pin prizes sponsored went to Mooli Avishar and Paul Karlin. Club captain Alon Granot presented the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
Shmulik Almagor, who is the league organizer and has been its director since its inauguration three years ago, presented the prizes for the 2014 league.
The first-place cup went to the Albatross team: Eliezer Peleg, head pro at Gaash David Goldenberg, Amos Aharoni and Mooli Avishar. Second place went to the Bentley team: Yehuda Levy, Yoav Shenhav, Hezi Magen and Ori Ilan. The Lexus team of Alon Granot, Itzik Ashkenazi, Aryeh Merdler and Eli Abramov was awarded third place.
