In the quarterfinals the women lost a chance at the podium when they lost 31-12 to eventual gold medalist Panama. They narrowly dropped their opening placement game to the United States 38-37 before ending with a 19-13 victory over France.
The Israeli men dropped to a disappointing eighth place after finishing sixth in 2014.
