Israel Flag Football: High on Life, Chaikel Travel Top Their Divisions Going Into Playoffs

The final weekend of flag football’s AFI League saw many teams fighting for playoff seeding and a few teams battling for the last tier-one playoff spots.
High On Life clinched their division in a game two 19-13 victory over Augenbaum Realty behind wide receiver Elliot Sayegh’s two touchdown receptions. High On Life stormed back in game one to earn a 23-23 tie on the last drive of the contest. Yossi Sherr and Chaim Harris caught touchdown passes in a game one 12-0 win for Chaikel Travel, which knocked out the Skokie Rebels from the tier one playoffs. The Rebels bounced back in game two behind wide receiver Dovid Marmurstein’s two TD receptions in a 18-6 victory.
Shana Bet Bochurim’s quarterback Isaac Laifer had a rushing and throwing touchdown to help his team win game one 13-7 and sneak into the last playoff spot against Mercaz Moosen, which clinched its own playoff spot with a big win in game two 13-6. Toras Chaim knocked out Senter Kings from the tier one playoffs with wins in game one 6-0 and game two 15-9.
Shmuli Sauer’s stellar play on both sides of the ball propelled his team in both wins. Derech Etz Chaim went into the playoffs with a game two 13-7 win over Pizzeria Efrat, behind wide receiver Moshe Shear rushing and receiving play. Both teams had battled hard in a tight game one, which ended in a 14-14 tie.
